Opportunities and Obstacles: Climate Resiliency Planning in Miami-Dade

Check out this recording from our session “Opportunities and Obstacles: Climate Resiliency Planning in Miami-Dade” from Volo Foundation’s Florida Climate Week.  In this panel discussion, we explored the complex challenges and opportunities in building climate resilience in Miami-Dade, and looked at how resiliency planning intersects with our water quality, ecosystem protection, and smart development work.

Panelists included experts from Everglades Law Center, Miami Waterkeeper, and Tropical Audubon Society.

By addressing interconnected issues like water quality, ecosystem protection, urban development, and stormwater management, the session examined how these forces create both obstacles and unique opportunities for collaborative, integrated planning. Our conversation highlighted gaps in current regulatory frameworks and identified legal, policy, and educational strategies to build a more climate-resilient future for Miami-Dade.

We are so thankful to the Volo Foundation for the opportunity to host this panel!
